MailFile is a program that make the live of sysops easier. This little utility makes it possible to send files and folders by mail from the commandline. Use MailFile to make backups of critical files and folders on the internal and remote servers. Version 1.2 also supports split emails for big files and the FTP-protocol to upload files instead of mailing them. |

Example: Send a zipfile containing all files including subfolders in c:MyData to me@mydomain.com. The sender is me_again@mydomain.com using the mailserver mail.mydomain.com.
C:>MailFile /Receiver:me@mydomain.com /Sender:me_again@mydomain.com
/MailServer:mail.mydomain.com /Dir:c:MyData /Recurse

Use the Registry to set the Sender and the Mailserver |

To avoid having to enter the sender and mailserver every time you can use the registry to preset these values.
Set the REG_SZ values Mailserver and Sender in \Software\MayaBase\MailFile in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER. The User key will override the Local Machine value.
NOTE: Backup your registry first.Make sure you know how to restore and modify the registry before you modify any value in the registry.
Example: Send the file boot.ini to me@mydomain.com. The sender and mailserver are set in the registry.
C:>MailFile /Receiver:me@mydomain.com /File:c:boot.ini
Example: Send the folder c:windowssystem32driversetc to me@mydomain.com in a zipfile named hostfiles.zip. The sender and mailserver are set in the registry.
C:>MailFile /Receiver:me@mydomain.com /Dir:c:windowssystem32driversetc
/Zip:hostfiles.zip
